heterogeneous mixture

A **heterogeneous mixture** is a type of mixture in which the components remain physically distinct and can be easily identified. Unlike homogeneous mixtures, the different substances in a heterogeneous mixture are not uniformly distributed, resulting in visible differences and separate phases. Common examples include salad, sand and water, or a bowl of cereal with milk.
